Once opened, the shelf life of our Lip Balm is nine months. Due to the delicate nature of organic botanicals, we recommend storing your Lip Balm in a cool, dry place. It is best to treat our Lip Balm as part of your morning or evening skincare routine—keeping transit at a minimum. Extreme temperatures or prolonged exposure to sunlight may cause the product to melt and crystallize upon setting.

Shea Butter, one of our main organic ingredients, may melt at temperatures above 80ºF. Upon re-setting, crystals may appear. The crystals are completely harmless and will melt upon skin contact. To avoid this, however, kindly ensure you are following the storage recommendations above.

A lot of thought went into our packaging to align with our mission of creating a sustainable product. We use 100% recyclable materials, such as FSC-certified paper, PP lids and ultra-violet glass. But there are a multitude of other benefits provided by the special glass we use. Ultra-violet glass protects products from the harmful effects of light, increases shelf life and protects and revitalizes the potency of the formula.

We manufacture in small batches to ensure each Lip Balm receives the highest care and attention. Our Lip Balms are handmade and while we aim for uniformity, sometimes they may set irregularly in the cooling stage. There is absolutely nothing wrong with these Lip Balms and in fact, we find perfection in the imperfections because it reminds us of the delicate nature of organic ingredients. Abaci Lip Balm has never and will never be tested on animals. While our hyaluronic acid is vegan, we do include sustainably-sourced organic beeswax and therefore, the product itself is not vegan. We use the highest quality organic botanicals to ensure our Lip Balm is completely safe and non-toxic. We use a very small percentage of organic Sweet Orange Essential Oil, which is one of the few essential oils that is generally recognized as safe during pregnancy (post-second trimester). However, we always recommend that you check with your doctor or physician.

Our Lip Balm is plumping and rejuvenating and can be used on other areas of the face as a deep moisturizer. We use only the highest quality ingredients that your skin can recognize and process. It is recommended that you do a patch test to ensure you don't have any specific allergies.

Our goal is to ensure you are completely satisfied with your hand-crafted Lip Balm. We create in small batches to ensure that each formulation is made with special attention to detail. However, if you believe your item has arrived damaged, we will accept a return or exchange, as long as it is at least half full and received within 14 days since your purchase date.
